The summer is warming up to be an exciting few months filled with family-friendly events and patriotic celebrations. Join visitors and Clay County locals as they come together to honor our country with homegrown events featuring our military and more.
Here’s a look at just some of the patriotic events taking place in Clay County this summer!
Freedom Fest
Get an early start to the holiday festivities at Orange Park Mall’s Freedom Fest on Saturday, June 25. This annual event features a variety of local food trucks, beer/wine, veteran-owned businesses and crafters, a kids zone and a silent auction benefitting St. Michael’s Soldiers. The Navy Band Southeast’s popular music group, “Pride” is set to perform followed by local favorite Cumberland and country music duo Crawford & Power. A fireworks finale ends the day’s festivities.
Admission is free to this outdoor festival, Veterans may also enjoy time at the Veteran’s Lounge. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and show time begins at 4:30 pm. Outside food and drink will not be permitted in the event area. Parking policies will remain consistent with daily mall operations.
Moosehaven – American Pride 4th of July Celebration
Join the Town of Orange Park and the residents of Moosehaven, Clay County’s retirement community, for the American Pride 4th of July celebration. Set alongside the St. Johns River, Moosehaven’s 63-acre campus serves home to residents and guests ready to celebrate the birth of our nation.
This free festival kicks off at 6:00 p.m. featuring live entertainment from the Bold City Classics and more. Bring a lawn chair or blankets to this patriotic celebration and enjoy a meal from local food trucks and get ready for a lively fireworks show to light up the skies over the St. Johns River at dusk.
Keystone Heights Parade
The festivities continue in Keystone Heights with the multi-day “Our Country Day” 4th of July celebration. The fun begins on the evening of Saturday, June 25th with an outdoor street dance held at Riviere Tire. On July 2nd, take part in the local arts & crafts festival, the 5K Freedom Run, a baby crawling contest and even a watermelon eating contest – something for all ages.
A volleyball tournament will also take place on Keystone Beach, teams are encouraged to register in advanced as spots are limited. Local food and drink vendors will be on site for the celebration along with live musicians performing throughout the day. That evening, fireworks over Keystone Beach will wrap up the day’s festivities.
