Held the first Saturday of each month, don’t miss doing some local shopping at the Fleming Island Saturday Market. The fun takes place at the Village Square Shopping Center across from the Fleming Island High School from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For a bit of entertainment, don’t miss the four-part harmony of The Oak Ridge Boys on their Front Porch Singin’ Tour at the Thrasher-Horne Center on May 12. The group has scored 12 gold, three platinum, and one double platinum album—plus one double platinum single—and had more than a dozen national Number One singles and over 30 Top Ten hits. Tickets are available online and at the box office.Â
On Sunday, May 15 stop in at the Orange Park Art & Farmers Market for live music, homegrown items and locally grown produce and goods. Located at Orange Park’s Town Hall, the market takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Â
Get ready for great eats and fun as Everybody’s Favorite BBQ & Hot Sauce Festival brings its three-day event to the Orange Park Mall May 13-15 featuring live music and a variety of barbecue and hot sauces vendors on site.
Green Cove Springs Food Truck Friday returns to Spring Park featuring live music and local eats from around Northeast Florida. Held the second Friday of each month March to November from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., bring a blanket or a lawn chair, make new friends and enjoy the views overlooking the St. Johns River.
The Vintage Market Days® returns to the Clay County Fairgrounds May 13-15. This upscale, vintage-inspired, indoor/outdoor market features original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and more.Â
Explore Camp Chowenwaw Park on a guided, walking history tour on May 21. The tour includes a museum visit and a rare inside look of our iconic Big Cabin, built during the Great Depression. Registration is REQUIRED and free! Space is limited. Â
To end the month, take part in the Memorial Day Riverfest at Spring Park in Green Cove Springs. Start the day with the Veterans Recognition Ceremony honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize our community’s veterans. In the afternoon, enjoy food and craft vendors, live performances by the river, and games such as the rubber duck race down Spring Run. The day-long festival ends with a fireworks show over the St Johns River. Â
