Located on the campus of St. Johns River State College’s main campus in Orange Park, the Thrasher-Horne Center is home to two art galleries, regional meetings, national touring shows and Broadway productions offering residents and visitors an exciting experience with a small-town atmosphere.
Let’s take a closer look at the experiences available for residents and visitors. Â
On-Site Art GalleryÂ
Just off of the main lobby of the building, you’ll find the Jack Mitchell and Lee Adams Galleries located in the Mary Ward Huntley Wing. While selected works by Jack Mitchell and Lee Adams are permanently displayed throughout Thrasher-Horne Center, the center is continuously accepting exhibition proposals from professional artists.
The galleries are open free to the public during regular ticket office hours. Visitors are encouraged to return often as exhibits are updated regularly throughout the year.
Thrasher-Horne Conference Center
The Thrasher-Horne Conference Center also offers over 6,260 square feet of rental space encompassing five banquet rooms ideal for meetings, wedding receptions, baby showers and more. With ample parking availability, adjustable lighting, sound and audio-visual capabilities, the center also offers affordable options for catering options.
With movable wall partitions, the on-site staff can arrange the venue space to accommodate most social event and meeting needs. From large meeting setups to small, intimate events filled with personality, the Thrasher-Horner Center can help achieve any venue needs.
The Main Stage Theater
Nationally-known musicians and performers and Broadway productions are just some of the hundreds of events to be hosted at the center’s Main Stage Theater. With 1,728 seats, the center offers visitors a venue with modern technology and offers two levels of audience seating: a spacious raked floor level and a stadium-style balcony with six private boxes. The lobby offers two concession areas, coat check, box office, and the members-only Circle Club.
The additional, smaller Studio Theater shares backstage and dressing room capabilities with the main stage. This flexible space can accommodate 220 seats with Retractable stadium-style seating on one side of the room, offering groups even more flexibility for using the space to their needs.
