Just like the weather, the Clay County calendar of events is heating up for the springtime. From local food events, the Clay County Agricultural Fair, the MotoSurf Continental Cup, performing arts festivals and more there’s plenty of activities for everyone to experience an adventure with plenty of local hospitality too.
Here’s a look at the upcoming events in Clay County!
The Clay County Agricultural Fair
The Clay County Agricultural Fair returns to the Clay County Fairgrounds March 30 through April 9, 2023 with a full lineup of excitement including special events, rides and national entertainment. Visitors can enjoy local livestock exhibitions and stroll through the popular Early Florida Village for a step back in time to the early days with live demonstrators dressed in period attire. This year’s entertainment features a variety of genres with artists like Ashley McBryde, Chris Janson, X Ambassadors, Casting Crowns and more.
The Florida Roundnet Open
The Florida Roundnet Open welcomes competitors to Clay County on April 1-2, 2023. The sport of Roundnet (commonly known as Spikeball) has been described as a cross between volleyball and four-square. It is played by 4 people (2v2), where each team gets 3 hits between them to hit the ball on the net, changing the possession for the other team to do the same. The unique and exciting part of Roundnet is that it is played 360 degrees and with no boundaries! The two-day event will be held at the Plantation Sports Complex in Fleming Island and admission is free for spectators.
Food Truck Friday
Food Truck Friday returns to Spring Park in Green Cove Springs on April 7, 2023, featuring live music and local eats from around Northeast Florida. Held the first Friday of each month, starting in March and running through November from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair, make new friends and enjoy the views overlooking the St. Johns River.
The MotoSurf Continental Cup
Returning to Clay County in 2023 is the MotoSurf Continental Cup at Lake Geneva in Keystone Heights April 21-23. This year’s event will include competitors from across the globe, a highlight of the sustainable resources used for this competitive sport, a kid’s development program, and an opportunity for the community to try motosurfing for themselves. The event will be broadcasted nationally on CBS Sports. Clay County has once again partnered with Airstream Ventures to produce this multi-day event.
Town of Orange Park Kids Fest
Don’t miss the popular Town of Orange Park Kids Fest April 22-23 held at Town Hall Park. In its 90th year, the event is designed for children ages 12 and under. Enjoy live music, interactive shows, games, activities and plenty of food. With free admission, free parking and a mixture of free and low-cost activities, this family-friendly event is a popular favorite for locals and visitors.
Calavida Arts Festival
Combining performance art and visual arts, the Calavida Arts Festival takes place in Green Cove Springs April 24-29, 2023. This multi-day festival is free to the public and takes place in eleven different locations throughout Green Cove Springs with artists displaying their work and greeting visitors. Serving as the main hub for performances, Spring Park, visitors can experience international dance performances and live music throughout the day on April 29.
Vintage Market Days
Vintage Market Days returns to the Clay County Fairgrounds on April 28-30 with vintage-inspired merchandise, repurposed finds, jewelry, clothing and more available for purchase. This three-day event prides itself on vendors offering a variety of goods of high quality and originality. Known as an indoor/outdoor market, Vintage Market Days is a popular event with both locals and visitors offering shopping that can’t be found anywhere else.
River Fest
RiverFest returns to Spring Park in Green Cove Springs this Memorial Day, May 29. Located along the St. Johns River, 100 arts & crafts vendors and 15 food trucks featuring local eats. Sign up for the watermelon eating contest, the rubber duck race in the springs and enjoy live entertainment in the park before fireworks light up the evening sky. There will also be a special ceremony honoring local veterans for their service.
