Chef Mackey started his career in the United States Navy as a cook on various ships where he had the opportunity to learn different types of foods and cooking techniques from around the world. Chef Mackey received his degree from The Art Institute of Colorado in 2001. However, he credits his mother and hometown of Port Sulphur, Louisiana, to his passion and love of food.
Chef Brian and Brandye Mackey moved to Fleming Island Plantation, early 2009 with their two sons. The Mackey family has become a positive addition to the community. Participating in Fleming Island events and coordinating meet the board picnics for Lake Ridge North residents. The Mackey’s relaunched Mackey’s Munchies in mid-2009. They have received lots of positive feedback and receive many requests for some specialists such as Gumbo, Sticky Icky BBQ Sauce, Peach Mango Ribs and Chicken, Fried, and Smoked Turkey, to name a few.
