We will be doing a beautiful 4.15 mile non-technical and flat-ish loop, so you will either run 12/9/6/3 or 2 loops filled with long leaf pines, palmettos and various wildlife

Halloween Havoc at Dunn Cemetery

Halloween Havoc at the Dunn Cemetery Join us for some Friday the 13th twilight/darkness trail running adventures on the majestic Pioneer Trail in Jennings State Forest for a unique one of a kind trail race where we will be running right by Dunn Cemetery under the moon lite sky and glow sticks lining the trail! This is a 3.75 mile out and back course on a relatively flat course where at the 2 mile mark you will traverse through the historic Dunn Cemetery. We will have some exciting and exhilarating " features" along the route and will have a Halloween/Friday the 13th theme for all you superstitious and spooky type individuals! Headlamps will be required for all runners/walkers and there will be a 1.5 hr cutoff to be finished to be off the trail by 8:30pm. We will have 1 "scare"  station at the cemetery which will be "accessorized" by our lovely friend Michelle AKA Minnie and will have you all ready for the return "climb" back up the service road to the final stretch of flat trail to the finish. This is a cupless race so you will need to carry your own handheld water bottle or hydration pack. This race is presented by Sombrero Running Events and Race Director Mike Martinez whom has only 2 well known " rules" which are: Rule 62 = Don't take yourself too damn seriously as well as his #wontgetlost policy especially in the dark :)  AWARDS: We will have awards for top 3 overall Female and Male, overall Masters ( 40 and above)  and Grandmasters ( 50 and above ) as well as the HIGHLY COVETED Slow A$$ award for DFL for Female and Male. We will also have a best dressed costume contest award as well as various other awesome awards/swag that the RD Mike Martinez is known to give away.to random participants! Each participant will receive a custom made 1 of a kind medal designed by Brie Los with Wicked Skins Athletics whom has the best medals in the business, we cant wait to see what medals she has for this race! If we are able to provide shirts for the race ( if interested in being a shirt sponsor please contact us ) the guaranteed shirt deadline will be Sunday September 17th.  This is a CUPLESS race so you will need to bring your own handheld bottle or other form of hydration container. A portion of the proceeds from this race will go to the Friends of Florida State Forest whom maintain and build the trails we love and enjoy!  There are no refunds for this race if unable to attend.

Clay County Outdoor Adventure Park Ribbon Cutting & Open House

Clay County Outdoor Adventure Park Ribbon Cutting & Open House September 29th & September 30th Located at 3829 Sergeant Bradley Crose Rd., Middleburg A first for the county is opening its doors. The Clay County Outdoor Adventure Park is having open house celebrations with a ribbon cutting ceremony next weekend on September 29th (3 p.m.) and an open house on September 30th (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.). Attached is a flyer with this information for distribution as you see fit.  The 200-yard, 30-target-lane gun range is the first aspect to become a reality in the sprawling 158-acre complex near Camp Blanding. Future plans in discussion include the potential for a wide variety of recreational outdoor activities including archery, skeet shooting, paintball courses, airsoft courses, training opportunities, ATV courses, fishing, and a pro shop. The range will be open for shooting on October 7th, and shooting will not be allowed at the open house, which will be cash-only. The complex is located at 3829 Sergeant Bradley Crose Road, Middleburg, which is on County Road 215, just south of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Our community is welcome to come out, sign up for memberships, learn more, and see the complex!
