First Coast Rugby Classic 2024

The First Coast Rugby Classic, first hosted in 2023 at the Jacksonville Rugby Home Pitch in Fleming Island, has just announced its return in 2024. The first edition found 4 teams from across the south to compete in the Bold City’s first ever 10s tournament. Your very own Jacksonville Men’s team took second after a near lose to Charleston in the finals. This year the tournament expands to host more men’s teams but also calls all local women’s teams to the pitch in the newly forged Women’s Division.

10s Rugby has grown in popularity as a great way to prepared XV sides who may not have the full numbers to practice effectively. It also provides a wonderful format for the speed of 7s but also the hard contact of 15s. 10s tournaments are growing through out the south, being held in Atlanta, Montgomery and a host of other cities on a yearly basis. Tournament Director Dan Fletcher is hopeful for the continued success of the tournament and looks forward to more great games this year.
