On New Year’s Day, America’s state parks will once again be celebrating with First Day Hikes, an opportunity for people to welcome the coming year in the outdoors, exercising, and connecting with nature. This year, Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park in Keystone Heights will host a self-guided hike on the Ridge Trail. Walk for as long or as little as you like. A park ranger will walk the trail from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and will answer any questions you may have.
Entrance into the park is $ per carload, $4 single-occupant vehicle. See ranger staff for directions to Ridge Trail.
