Peonies Painting Class

Join local fine artist Sophie Dare Designs for a Friday evening class at The Art Room! Each design is from Sophie’s personal collection of photos and paintings. We will be experimenting and learning the basics of acrylic painting palette knife and brushwork, color theory and tips. We will be painting a Peonies on a 11×14 canvas with a traceable template for those who wish to use it.
Feel free to bring your own water, coffee, tea, wine, beer. Red’s Wine Bar is two doors down, you can order and bring down anything you like (sometimes they even deliver!) Spring Park Coffee is one block away and also has a great selection of drinks!

IMPORTANT INFO: Please sign up 3 days in advance of each class so we know how many to be prepared for. 16 students maximum, 4 students minimum. (If the minimum is not reached, the class may be rescheduled or canceled/refunded payment.) Age recommendation: This is a 2 hour, peaceful class designed for a mature audience. This class does not require previous painting or artistic skills, but is not intended for young children.
*TRAFFIC ALERT*
Starting Wednesday, February 28 (estimated through August), the 400 block of Walnut Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic until date of completion. The Art Room will be open to business as usual! You will have the ability to park in the lots north and south of Walnut Street and have walking access with the sidewalks. If you are hosting a party, please take this into consideration for how you will bring in supplies (we will have a hand truck available to help transport items from your car if you’d like.) Also please inform your guests of where to park.
If the sidewalk happens to be closed in front of The Art Room, we will have safe access through the back door of the studio (which can be accessed in the walkway on the south side of Sweet Sensations.)
