Kingsley Lake, believed to be Florida’s deepest lake at 90 feet in some areas, is also the highest above sea level, sitting atop the Trail Ridge—a unique geological formation in Clay County. Its near-perfect circular shape is the result of erosion around a sinkhole fed by multiple springs, not a meteor crater as some believe. While it’s no longer open to the public, those with military base access can enjoy its beauty through Camp Blanding.
